Haruna Furukawa, a Japanese-American, trained at Orange County Ballet, NY before coming to Columbia Classical Ballet. She also trained at Joffrey Academy of Dance in Chicago and Pasadena Dance Theatre. In 2013 and 2014 Haruna competed in the NBA Ballet Competition-Tokyo, World Ballet Competition-Orlando and Youth American Grand Prix-Seattle. She has danced with the Orange County Ballet Theater, boston Ballet II and Pasadena Dance Theatre in arious roles that include the Nutcracker, Balachine’s ‘Who Cares’ and Valse Fantasie. During her summers she trained in Boston, Pittsburgh, San Francisco and New York. We welcome Haruna to Columbia Classical Ballet for her first season.
