Joy Lima began her formal ballet training at the age of 11 at The Dance Academy of The Spindle City Ballet in Fall River Massachusetts. She supplemented her training with summer programs at The Nutmeg Conservatory for the Arts, American Repertory Ballet’s Princeton Ballet School and Nashville Ballet. She most recently attended the Carreno Dance Festival in Sarasota Florida to train under a prestigious faculty including Jose Carreno, Loipa Araujo, Magaly Suarez, Julie Kent, Yuri Fateev, Gennadi Saveliev, Carlos dos Santos and Eduardo Veitia. In addition to her training Joy was a junior apprentice at Providence Ballet Theatre for a season and a company apprentice with the Spindle City Ballet for several seasons. Joy is excited to return for another season with Columbia Classical Ballet.
