Jolie Alonso
Dancer
Originally from Olympia, Washington, Jolie trained locally in many styles of dance but fell in love with ballet. She joined the Joffrey Ballet School in New York City in 2023 as a Trainee under Artistic Director Era Jouravlev, where she trained in Vaganova technique and premiered in their rendition of the Grand Pas de Fleur (La Esmeralda). In 2024, Jolie moved to California where she danced with New Ballet San Jose for two years, first as a Studio Company Apprentice, then Studio Company dancer. There she performed multiple soloist roles such as Clara and California Poppy (The San Jose Nutcracker), Russian Princess (Swan Lake), and Zulma (Giselle) under Artistic Director Dalia Rawson. Jolie has also expanded her performance repertoire by performing featured roles in contemporary pieces by Natasha Adorlee and James Kopecky, as well as being recognized regionally for her pas de deux work at both ADC | IBC and YAGP (2025). Outside of her love for performing, Jolie loves hiking, painting, and spending time with her cat. She has also found a deep passion for teaching ballet, and looks forward to continuing to develop that passion.
Jolie would like to thank her friends and family for all of their love and support, and is excited to continue her career in Columbia.
