Soloist with Columbia Classical Ballet, hails from Hong Kong where she began her ballet training at Ivy Chung School of Ballet. In 2012 Janis was accepted into the pre-professional program at Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School and then joined Coastal City Ballet of Vancouver, Canada in January of 2013. She has competed in many significant competitions including the prestigious Varna International Ballet Competition held in Varna, Bulgaria, USA IBC in Jackson, and the Asian Grand Prix. She has won numerous awards and full scholarships in the United States, Australia, and Hong Kong. Janis’ repertoire includes Aurora in Sleeping Beauty, Paquita and Princess Medora in Le Corsaire, Harlequin, Marzipan & Snow Queen in The Nutcracker, Pas de Trois in Swan Lake among others. In the summer of 2013 she was asked to perform in Swan Lake with the Hong Kong Ballet Company at the Guangzhou Theatre. We welcome Janis back to Columbia Classical Ballet for her second season.
