Property (Props) Master

Property (Props) Master, Columbia Classical Ballet.

Searching for an artistic and organized employee to be responsible for purchasing, acquiring, manufacturing, properly placing, and/or overseeing any props needed for all productions, within a provided budget. The property master will collaborate with Artistic Director, Ballet Master, and other members of the production to manage the physical appearance of the stage, set, and/or dancers as needed, and to achieve their aesthetic and stylistic requirements.

The property master is on staff during preproduction, and throughout all the performances. In rehearsals, Props Master will plan the logical progression of each prop throughout the performance. During each performance, the props master maintains this progression by ensuring the props are positioned in their correct logical place for each scene according to the plan (responsibility of set up and organization of the props).

Temporary position (ideally September 24, 2018 to mid-March 2019). 10 hours a week, flexible schedule considering most hours worked during rehearsal and performance weeks. Hourly pay.
