Sarah Waters of Newburgh, IN, grew up as military child and has been dancing since the age of 4. Her early training was at the Florida Ballet Conservatory under the direction of Noreen Poppell followed by training at Evansville Ballet under the direction of Mark Bush near her home in Newburgh. While there, her repertory included such roles as Snow Queen and Dew Drop in Nutcracker, the Wicked Queen in Snow White, Grandmother Mermaid in Little Mermaid (televised on PBS), and Tiger Lily in Peter Pan.
Ms. Waters continued her training for two more years in the Professional Training Division of Nashville Ballet in Nashville, TN. She also attended summer programs at Evansville Ballet, Gelsey Kirkland Academy of Classical Ballet, Kaatsbaan International Dance Center, Louisville Ballet, and Nashville Ballet.
Ms. Waters joined Columbia Classical Ballet in August 2017 as a member of the corps de ballet. She has danced roles in Aladdin, Cinderella, Don Quixote, Giselle, Imagine: Ballet Rocks, Le Corsaire, LifeChance, The Nutcracker, and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. She enjoyed touring with the company for performances of The Nutcracker and Imagine: Ballet Rocks.
In addition to returning for her third season dancing with Columbia Classical Ballet, Ms. Waters has been an instructor at Pavlovich Ballet School since February 2018, teaching students in Pre-Ballet, levels 1 through 4, and the school's summer intensive programs. This is Ms. Waters first season as Assistant to the Ballet Master / Mistress.
