Sayaka is from Hiroshima, Japan. She trained at the Masako Todo Ballet Academy under the tutelage of Masako Todo and Zunnko Sasaki. She was awarded a scholarship to the Joffrey Ballet School in New York in 2010 and after becoming a full-time trainee in the classical ballet division, she performed the lead role of Marie in The Nutcracker. In 2011 she joined the Joffrey Ballet School Company. In 2013, she was Guest Artist for the Hawaii State Ballet performing the role of Sugar Plum Fairy in the Nutcracker. Columbia Classical Ballet welcomes Sayaka for her fifth season.
